Soup is an element always present in the Portuguese cuisine, it is possible to find many traditional soups in the Porto region, however we highlight the Green Broth (Caldo Verde).
Because of its simplicity and lightness, this soup is usually eaten at the beginning of the main meal or a late dinner. This is a traditional soup; it is usually served in bowls of mud and always accompanied by corn or bread from Avintes. This broth joins various slices of sausage like pepperoni or paprika sausage to make it delicious. According to the original recipe it should always be accompanied by a good green red wine, also served in "bowls" which is a perfect match.
